Connie Vise Morris, born June 4, 1948, died from complications of a cancerous brain tumor on Monday April 3, 2017, after a nine and half year battle.
Connie was born in Muncie, IN, where she attended Yorktown High School and was a four year varsity cheerleader (Go Tigers!). She and her family moved to Deltona, FL in 1968 where she worked as an account supervisor for ten years at an insurance company.
In 1971 she and her high school sweetheart Gary J. Morris reunited and were married in 1973 in Deltona, FL, on April 14th (forty-four years). In 1981 Gary and Connie moved to the mountains of NC to Little Sandy Mush in Madison County, where they built a log cabin and established a homestead. Connie loved gardening, flowers and canning, and she raised blueberries for market. But most of all she loved her Thursday morning women's bowling league for years.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Roy L. and Anna Bell Vise and sister Cheryl Williams Shroyer. Surviving are her husband, Gary J. Morris, of the home; brother David L. Vise (Janice) of Deland, FL; sister Carolyn Sue Davis (Clarence) of Bradenton, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
She's moving on to bigger and better things, and I miss her, save me a spot, I'll love you forever, Joey.
A memorial service for Mrs. Morris will be held on May 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home.
A special thanks to Jessie Plemmons, our caregiver for the last two years, and all the thoughts and prayers from her friends and neighbors.
The family suggests that in lieu of sending flowers to the service to instead plant a flower (perennial) in her memory.
