Bobbie R. Faulkner, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 4, 2017. From her birth in Asheville, North Carolina on May 30, 1934 to her death on Saturday, she showered everyone around her with love, faith and kindness.
She was born to the late Robert Rogers and Estella Cody and was the oldest of two children. She was once in the newspaper for not missing a day of school for 11 years. She also held a perfect eight year attendance record at work, until missing only to have gall stones removed.
On her birthday in 1959 she married the love of her life, the late, Bob Faulkner. Together they ran Faulkner's Florist, located in the Asheville Mall and on Leicester Hwy.
After that adventure, Bob became a car salesman and Bobbie worked for Westinghouse, from where she retired. Together they had three children.
Left to honor and remember her love are her three children, Kirk, Kymberly and Kellie Faulkner; six grandchildren, Josie and Paul Mundy, Christopher Crowder and Jason Josey, Cody and Mary Faulkner, Travis Fox, Dana Faulkner, and Chyanni Faulkner & Chris Douglas; great-grandchildren, Lillian Mundy, Kobe Mundy, Haiden Blake, Kadenz Faulkner, Caedyn Faulkner, Zoei Douglas, Myles Mundy, Cohen Faulkner and Kaine Douglas; sister, Billie Stapleton; brother, Tim Thomas; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She wanted to be known as having a good outlook on life and having a great love for all children. She loved to play Bingo and had a thirst for reading.
A memorial service for Mrs. Faulkner will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenny Clewis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, PO Box 295, Hot Springs, NC 28743.
