Sonja Francine Kramers, 39, of Arden, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 26, 2008.
Sonja was born in Asheville and was a daughter of the late Loek Kramers. She was a graduate of T.C. Roberson High School and of UNC-Chapel Hill, where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority.
Sonja owned Happy Tails Country Club on Cane Creek Road and she was a member of the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, which recently nominated her as a candidate for the Chamber's Athena Award (female business person of the year). She was a member of Grace Community Church where she was active with Young Life.
Surviving Sonja are her mother, Susie S. Kramers-Bondy and her husband, Jack Bondy of Fletcher; one brother, Dominic CodyKramers and his wife, Dayna, of Seattle, WA; her dear friend and companion, Jamie Burr; her six step-siblings, Lee and Jo Ann Bondy, Kathleen and Dave Lux, Patty and Karl Kemm, Debbie Maddox, Larry and Vickie Bondy and Johnette and Greg Burress. She is also survived by the loves of her life, her dogs, Maggie and Mollie.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Dean Cesa at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery.
A second celebration of her life is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Sunday at her business, Happy Tails Country Club on Cane Creek Road.
