Margie Dillingham Morris, 88, of North Bear Creek Rd., died Monday, January 9, 2012, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late William and Lula Jane Dillingham. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Albert Morris. Mrs. Morris was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Julia Duckett of Asheville; son Larry McKinney of Cary, NC; grandchildren Darrell Duckett, Tanya Ballenger, Mischa Locklear, Lisa Wiggins, and Robert McKinney; great-grandchildren Makayla Ballenger, Devin and Marissa Locklear, and Jessie Wiggins; sister Minevia Thurman of Van Buren, IN; and brother Boyce Dillingham of Pendleton, IN. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tony Hooper officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

  7. Margie was a sweet and dear lady. She always had a smile and a kind word. I have always had a special fondness for her . . . from when she worked with my mother at Square D and later always stopping by to see her at Sam’s and, in more recent years, at her home. I know that she sees clearly now and that earth’s loss is heaven’s gain. Nonetheless, she will be missed! Our prayers and hugs to all the family.

  10. I have just learned of Margie’s passing. I feel your pain,having lost my sister in may 2011 and brother in August 2011. She was an awesome lady,but rely on your faith and you will know,death is not the end,it is the open gate to Heaven
