Leonard C. Moody, 82, of St. Johns Street, Arden, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center.
A native of Brasstown, he was the son of the late John and Nancy Elizabeth Caldwell Moody and was also preceded in death by six siblings.
Leonard was a member of Arden First Baptist Church and a former employee of Taylor Instrument and Day International.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Norman Moody; two daughters, Donna Arthur (Charlie) and Linda Cushman (Jack); a son, Len Moody (Susan), five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two sisters, Gladys Helms and Roberta Neighbors.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. A graveside service will be held at 3:45 pm in McDowell Memorial Park in Marion.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

Leonard was a wondrful man and I enjoyed my time with him at Taylor Instrument. Alice and I send our sympathy to the family during this time of great loss. We are so sorry to hear of Leonard’s Passing. He was a great man with a sweet spirit. He helped Mom & Dad out many times and was a good friend to them as well as us. I was in the hospital during the time of the funeral so I didn’t get to come. We will be praying that God will be with you and your family.
