Fairview ~ Walter Everett Ledbetter, 94, died March 13, 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 67 ears, Veenie Morrow Ledbetter. Other surviving members of the family are his daughters and their husbands; Nancy and David Tickle, Gail and Harold Wilson, and Cindy and Van Dotson; grandchildren, Sam, Travis and Jessica Tickle, Hal and Andrew Wilson, Van and Andi Cora Dotson; great- grandchildren, Rachel and Kate Tickle.
Everett was born on Rocky Knob behind Nesbitts Chapel Methodist Church in the Flat Creek Community. His parents were Andrew Johnson Ledbetter and Cora Isabelle Nesbitt. Everett's siblings who preceded him in death were Queenie Oates, Letty Nanney and Andy Ray Ledbetter. He is survived by George P. Morrow.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 20, 2004, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Long Shoals Road.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Pleasant Grove Cemetery Fund, c/o Kenneth Camby, PO Box 428, Fairview, NC 28730.
