pauline henderson
S. Pauline Henderson, 86, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012, in Winston-Salem. She was born in East Tennessee in 1926 to Elbert Conley and Evelyn Shetley Henderson. While living in Greenville, SC, she went to work for AT&T at the age of 15. All of her working life was spent with AT&T in Asheville, Charlotte, New York, and New Jersey, before she retired back to Charlotte following 40 years of service and reaching the management level. Her health began to fail in 2004, and continued to decline until her death. She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Davis, of Candler, and Juanita Shook, of Winston-Salem; three nephews, and one niece. She was generous and loving to her family and others. She will be greatly missed by all. A funeral service for Ms. Henderson will be on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Don Welborn officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

  1. Aunt Polly,
    I will miss you greatly.
I am grateful to all you were to me and how good you were to me.
I will miss your great since of humor.
I am thankful to know you are with Jesus now and you are not hurting anymore and you are healthy and happy.
I am thankful to know I will be with you again in Heaven!
    I love you always!

  2. Family and friends of Pauline,
It was with sadness that I learned of Pauline’s death today after the service had already been held and friends received. I had been out of town to visit my children and did not realize she had passed away. She had been a good neighbor for many years on Blueberry Hill Road, and I enjoyed visiting with her and Dorothy. They were certainly good caregivers to their Mom. Pauline had not been in good health for quite a while, so we know she has a new body and is with Jesus. May God give the family grace and peace in the coming days.
    Love in Christ,
    Ethel Jacobson
