Bob lived a good and fruitful life. He died with the expectation of life in the hereafter and reuniting with loved ones, but he never lost his zest for this life, his curiosity about what lay beyond the next ridge and his faith in his fellowman.

In 1967 Bob married Asheville native, Barbara Monteath, with whom he enjoyed 45 years of loving marriage with a 45 wedding anniversary and renewal December 30, 2012.
Bob started his career in 1967 at Monteaths Tire Service Center until 1986. He opened Monteaths Gulf on Tunnel Road in the early 70's then Monteaths Auto Service on Swannanoa River Road in 1986 until present.
Bob is fondly remembered for his many contributions to the community. In the 70s he was leader of the Daniel Boone Boy Scout Troop 108 Webelo.

We were so sad to learn of Bobby’s passing. He has meant so much to our family over the years – I always felt like he treated me like he would have any member of his family. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
My deepest sympathy and prayers to you and your family. May love of friends and family, help lighten the pain of his passing. I think of you often. I wish in time the beautiful memories of your life together, will ease this pain and give you peace. I am thy sister…
