Eula Bradley Cotten Hendricks, 94, of Asheville, died Sunday, October 6, 2013.
Mrs. Hendricks was born in Jackson County and grew up in Wilmot, the daughter of the late William and Julia Martin Bradley. In her younger years, she worked at the Tuckaseegee Sewing Mills, which washed away in the 1947 floods. More recently, she retired from the Buncombe County School System.
A sturdy mountain woman with a wonderful sense of humor, she outlived five siblings, several nieces and nephews, and two husbands, Leon James Cotten, Sr., and Phillip B. Hendricks.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Kathleen Cotten of Asheville, and step-children, Sidney R. Hendricks, Phyllis H. Messer, Phillip Bruce Hendricks, and Susan H. Shipman.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road.
Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery will be private.
