Douglas Robert Warnell, Sr., 66, of Asheville, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center.
A native of Levittown, LI, NY, he was a son of the late Douglas Courtney and Jane Meade Warnell.
Mr. Warnell was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was the owner of Blue Ridge Foreign Auto Consultants, Inc., and was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, C.E.C.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Hesse Warnell; son, Douglas and wife Robyn; daughters, Monika and Tiffany; grandchildren, Nevaeh and Zade; and sister, Alison and husband Billy.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with The Venerable William G. McLoughlin and the Rev. Fr. Christopher Newcomb officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

I am so deeply saddened by Doug’s death. I always looked forward to seeing his genuine smile when sharing the Peace of Christ in a worship service. Please know that you and the family are in my prayers Maria.
Maria, Tiffany and Monika – Marshall and I are so saddened by the news of Doug’s passing and extend our deepest sympathy and prayers to all of you. Maria, Tiffany, and Mouse- My love to you all during this time of loss. Please know that you all in my thoughts and prayers. Doug was a dear friend and brother in Christ. He will be greatly missed by all. I wish I was back in the states so I could post the picture of all of us from so long ago when we all went on the train ride and ate at the Jarrett house.
