Kimbrough "Trey" Wheless Haines, III

September 8, 1989 ~ September 9, 2015
Resided in:
Tampa, FL
Kimbrough Wheless Haines III (Trey) passed away from this life to be with his Lord Jesus on Wednesday night, September 9, 2015 (one day after his 26th birthday) as a result of a tragic accident in Tampa, FL.
Trey had moved to Tampa, working for Lane Construction for 20 months in highway construction as a project manager. He has previously worked in Raleigh, NC with Barnhill Contracting before and after graduating from NC State University in 2013. During his short career with companies, he cultivated relationships with wonderful people and touched many lives in a positive way. Trey loved and was loved by people wherever he went and to say that he will be greatly missed by family and co-workers is an understatement.
He was a 2008 graduate of TC Roberson High School and a member of Calvary Fellowship in Mills River. He is survived by his father, Kimbrough Wheless Haines Jr.; loving mother Lisa Schimke Haines; sisters Anna, Grace, Lilli and Abigail; his precious girlfriend whom he planned to marry, Ashley Knight; his maternal grandmother Phyllis Schimke from Chicago Heights, IL and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
While his life and our time with him too short, Trey lived! He enjoyed the friendship of so many people who supported and encouraged him all of his life. Trey loved his mother, father and sisters greatly and especially his girl Ashley. We all had plans with him and the future was so bright, that it is difficult to believe that he is gone from us. We are so thankful for the time we had with him. Trey is with the Lord along with all the others that have gone on ahead and we look forward to seeing him again in that Day!
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 14, 2015 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Pastor Noel Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Churchyard. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

My prayers go out to the family at this difficult time. Our loving God has promised to do away with sickness, suffering, and death here on the earth in the near future. (Psalms 37:9-11; Isaiah 33:24; John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15; Revelation 21:3-5) God understands what you are feeling and promises to be ‘close to the brokenhearted’ and ‘saves those crushed in spirit’. (Psalms 34:18) Please know that your family will be in my prayer!
My God bless you and your family during this difficult time. Although I did not know Trey, but I work in the Lane corporate office and feel your loss.
I had the pleasure to be working with Trey on another Construction project that he was also supervising in Tampa. I was impressed with his calm way of handling issues, his professionalism and most of all, his manners. I know he had a good family upbringing. I only knew him a brief time but I will always remember him as a fine young man. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Haines Family: My name is Kris Ratchford and I am a friend of Jill’s. First, I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Trey but when I would ask Jill about him over the past year her answer would be ‘He is absolutely perfect in every way’ I know she meant he was perfect for Ashley and a perfect human being. I know Ashley adored him and Jill often described him as the ‘love of her life’ As time goes on, I will continue to keep your family, Trey and Ashley in my prayers. My God bless you and your family during this time and always. Kris Ratchford

To the Haines & Schmike Families. My sincere sympathies to you on the loss of your dear son, brother, grandson, nephew and ‘friend’ to many. We cannot understand why this happened & why God felt it was time for Trey to be with him. But may you find strength in your faith, knowing that Trey is rejoicing in heaven, reunited with his ‘Grandpa Don’ and on ‘That Day’ you will be reunited with all loved ones and believers for eternity.
Sorry for your loss. Praying for your family.
Dear family,
Your sweet daughter, Lilli, came by TCR today and told me about Trey. I did not know. Please know that your son was one of my favorite students. I know how hard he worked both at school and at work. He was such a nice and respectful young man. I am so sorry for your loss. I will be praying for you all. I am still in shock as I know you are too. May God be with you and your family.
