Virgil C. Griffin "VC", 74, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Aston Park Health Care Center after a period of declining health. He had been a resident at Aston Park for the past 10 years and considered it to be his home.
He was born May 18, 1941, to the late Virgil C. and Bernice Parham Griffin. He was a member of Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his brother, Leroy Griffin, and by Shirley Clark (whom he considered to be his second Mama) and her husband Earl.
Visitation for VC will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday at Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Anthony Fox. Burial will follow at Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family to assist with funeral and tombstone expenses, in care of Shirley Clark, 404 Ridgeview Road, Leicester, NC 28748.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the staff of Aston Park for the loving care they provided to VC. Also, they appreciate the friendship he developed with his roommate, Bruce Capps and his wife, Sandy.
