Loretta Reese Turpin, 93, of Asheville, died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at the CarePartners Solace Center.
A native of Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late George and Ada Heaton Reese. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Butch" Turpin, Jr.
Mrs. Turpin was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughters, Margaret T. Crisp and Brenda T. Wallace; granddaughters Tanya Soderberg and Tiffany Lee Heidel; and great-grandsons, Daniel and Ryan Heidel.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Green Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Stan Welch and Dr. John A. Turpin officiating. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at West Asheville Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.

Loretta was a great friend and neighbor to my parents. She was a wonderful woman–sorry to hear of her passing.
We are sorry to hear about Aunt Loretta’s passing. Truly the end of an era. I will always remember her quick wit and especially her sharp wardrobe. I never saw her without everything perfect! Her home was the same way, just beautiful! I loved her and will miss her. All my love and prayers for comfort and strength to Brenda and Margaret and family.
My love, thoughts and prayers will be with you today, as you lay to rest my teacher and most of all a wonderful friend. I will always cherish my memories of both she and Butch. We will join their reunion one day. My health does not permit my being with you. May God’s great love surround all of you today and the days to come.
