Guestbook

  1. To the surviving family of Martha. What a fine lady Martha was. I knew Martha from knowing Sonny first, then she worked at UNC Asheville where I worked.

I am so sorry for your loss and pray you feel God’s peace during the difficult days ahead.

    Betty Ponder

  2. So sorry to learn of Martha’ passing. She and Sonny were such a good couple. Martha and I shared a class on NC History at AB Tech. Her sense of humor and knowledge keep the class and instructor on their toes. Will miss her very much.

  3. What a joyous lady. I worked with Martha after she left UNCA, and she was always telling me stories about her youth and laughing. We will miss her.

  4. Susan,

I am so sorry to learn of Martha’s death. I wasn’t aware she was in Solace since we’ve lived in Georgia for the past seven months. I enjoyed knowing Martha and our years together in the Jubilee Choir. I hope you are well. Edgar and I are okay and though we miss our ‘former’ life, it is good that we are near family. Give our love to your sweet children.

  5. Martha was a wonderful Christian lady in the Brothers and Sisters in Christ’s Service (BASICS) Class at First Baptist Church. She was a beloved and faithful member since the beginning of the class and will be missed so much. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed with people.

  6. Martha and I have shared our lives through the years as being neighbors
3 different times. We have also shared church and Sunday school together.
She will be sadly missed, but I am also happy to know that she is at peace.

    Eleanor McCarter

  7. Punkin, which is what I always new her as, was a wonderful, caring beautiful person. She was a wonderful aunt. I wish my children had gotten to meet and know her like I did. She will be greatly missed
