Robert Reeves King, Sr., 66, of 100 Hayes Cove Road, Leicester, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, October 9, 2004.
Mr. King was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Hansel and Lottie Ward King. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael David King who died in 1986. He was the former owner of the Leicester Grill and was a member of South Turkey Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda King; three daughters Joyce Rogers and her husband Bodie of Asheville, Gina Hensley and her husband Kevin of Leicester, and Kimberly King of the home; two sons, Robert Reeves King, Jr. of Baltimore, MD and David Griffin of the home; two sisters, Frances McElreath of Hendersonville and Katie Hooper of Asheville; two brothers Ray King of Baltimore and Carroll King of Asheville and five grandchildren, Amanda and Brad Rogers, Emily and Caroline Hensley and Megan King.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Matthew Sams and Charles Phillips officiating. Burial will be at South Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Brenda, Kim, Davie, Sissy, Gina, Rob and other family members. We cared a lot about Reeves. It brings tears to our eyes and sadness to our heart to know when we visit Hayes Cove we will not be Blessed with his presence. You will be in our prayers continually.
