Maggie Rich Morgan, 88, of Granite Falls, NC, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
A native of Haywood Co., she was a daughter of the late James and Anni Lou Evans Rich. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ogden Brewton Morgan.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Powell and husband Larry, and Brenda Clontz; grandchildren, Diana Wakefield and husband Rick, and Jim Powell; and great-grandchildren, Kaytlyn and Allie Powell, and Nicholas and Morgan Wakefield.
Graveside services for Mrs. Morgan will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
Heaven gained a sweet angel! I will always treasure the memories of walking to my Nanny Candler’s house with Maggie and our talks. I just adored her! Prayers going up for her family
Linda, Brenda, Diana, Jim, and family, I just found out about Maggie’s passing today and I’m so sorry I didn’t know and missed her graveside service.
I have known Maggie all my life and,she seemed like family. I also remember walking with her to my Grandmother Candlers house…I really thought that was something. I remember her wonderful cooking. I remember how patient she was with us and I know that had to be hard at times. Unfortunately I didn’t visit her as often as I should have in the latter years, but I never quit loving Maggie.
I am sorry for your loss and have you all in my thoughts and prayers.
