Gary Karl Messer

Gary Karl Messer, 61, of Candler, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the CarePartners Solace Center. A native of Buncombe Co., Gary was a son of Claudette Davis Messer and of the late Harold Clayton Messer. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Gevedon. In addition to his mother, Mr. Messer is survived by his sons, Travis Messer and wife Summer, and Gary Messer, Jr.; daughter, Lindsey Messer; grandsons, Logan and Lucas Messer; and sisters, Janice Gaddy, Kathy Slagle, and Tammy Owens. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Pastor Kim Poteat officiating. Interment will follow at Edgewood Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
