Matthew Lee Kerley, 26, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 20, 2018.
A native of Virginia Beach, VA, Matthew was a son of Malvin Loyd Kerley, Jr., and Lisa Nichole Capps Paxson and husband Rowland Paxson, III.
Matthew was a member of the P.B.R. Rodeo, loved to hunt and fish, and loved riding his motorcycle.
In addition to his parents and step-father, he is survived by two daughters, Ashlynn and Kristlyn; his sisters, Holly Nicole Kerley and Harlee Faith Parker; brother, Brian Scott Kerley, and nephew, Liam.
Matthew's family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Groce Funeral Home to aid with funeral expenses.
Good young man. Going to be missed by so many. I love you and missing you so bad. He had a great heart and loved rodeo and riding is motorcycle.

Matt had a special place in my heart…He was so full of life.He will be missed dearly and I will miss hearing his voice every day….He would call just to check up on me…He had such a look on life…He loved his bull riding..He has two pretty daughter’s that will miss him…He will always be in my heart and mind…Love you Matt and miss you already so much

Matt was such a sweet and funny person. I’m so glad I got to meet him, and watch his daughter grow. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
