I was saddened to learn of the passing of Victor… In my years in the 1990s when I was in charge of the Amateur Radio Emergency Service in Buncombe County, no one was more faithful in offering his service and support to his community. After I moved to Asheville and we lost contact, I was always happy when I would be transferred a call at ARRL when he called for some assistance with something amateur radio. He was truly a humble, honest man and I offer my condolences to his family. Rest in peace KK4IP – you will be missed…
Our deepest condolences to your family during this difficult time. Mr. Finegold was a wonderful gentleman who will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Victor was a true American hero of the finest kind. I did not know him personally, but his record speaks for itself. My condolences to the family.
Scores of amateur radio operators will deeply miss Victor, KK4IP. His gentle demeanor and his generosity of time and knowledge, especially on his Sunday morning ‘Chaverim’ Net, also known as Victor’s Sunday Morning Get-Together, were legendary. I consider myself fortunate to have known him. Alecha shalom, yedidi! May eternal peace be unto you!
Mr. Finegold was a special man and I enjoyed hearing his stories.
Love to you all during this time.
Victor was a wonderful neighbor to me. He always took the time to check on things and to chat. I enjoyed hearing his stories and spending time with him. My thoughts and prayers go to his family during this time.
I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Finegold’s passing. Mr. Finegold came to my American History classes on several occasions to tell my students about his experiences in WWII. He demonstrated such passion in his talks that many of my students wanted to research more about the GI experience. Thank you
Mr. Finegold you were an inspiration for us. God bless your family during this difficult time.

Victor was a tremendous source of information, inspiration, and strength for me as tried to navigate the obstacles associated with working in, what would become, the family business. I cherished those conversations during the early days and was thrilled that they continued for many years thereafter.
Victor was the consummate gentleman. He’ll be missed by many in the amateur radio fraternity. Already, there is a void when “Victor’s Sunday Morning Get-Together” network aired every week like clockwork “in the old-fashioned gentlemanly tradition of amateur radio.” An extended family of ham radio operators joins Victor’s family in mourning his loss and is somewhat worse off now that no signal emanates from station KK4IP. A final wish for good DX and 73 for Victor!
I would listen many Sunday’s to Victor (KK4IP) talk with people on Ham Radio. He would be so helpful, providing signal reports and adding some assistance where needed. It was a pleasure to hear him talk about his past history of his service time. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon it was. He will be greatly missed by me, and I’m sure many others.
