George Alfred Griffin, 79, of East Flat Rock, NC, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Advent Health.

A native of Buncombe Co., George was a son of the late Howard and Marie Letterman Griffin.

Surviving are his wife, Minnie Lee Revis Griffin; daughter, Becky Plemmons (Dean); son, Chris Griffin (Angie); grandchildren, Stacy Griffin, Eric Morgan, Summer Collins, and Shane Plemmons; great-grandson, Austin Collins; and numerous extended family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eliada Home, 2 Compton Dr., Asheville, NC 28806.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.

  1. This was such a great man.he will be truly missed.he always tried to witness to people lead them to Jesus! He was very honest about how he felt no matter what .he was a very special man ,a great papaw !! He loved his family very much ! He never met a stranger ,he always loved talking meeting people.he loved the flea market , finding old things ! A sweet man who will truly be missed .until I see u again ..I love you papaw !!! ❤️❤️❤️Summer ps..Austin loves u too!!!
