Frances Carolyn Reed Wren

Frances Carolyn Reed Wren, 89, affectionately known as “Tootsie”, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021, at Flesher’s Fairview Nursing Center.

Born August 16, 1931, in Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late William Carson and Jeanie Ella Dalton Reed. She worked for a number of years with Standard Paper Company, and lived in Ohio, California, Virginia and Nevada before retiring with her husband, John William Wren back to Buncombe County in the early 1990’s. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Fairview.

Surviving are a grandson, Ron Reed, Jr., a great-grandson, Ronnie Reed, III, and several nieces and nephews including Dianne Lance and Jay Huntley.

She was the last of a blended family of 14 siblings and was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Michael Reed and her husband John William Wren.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Norris Wright officiating.

The family expresses their appreciation to the staffs of Fleshers Fairview Nursing Home and Four Seasons Hospice, especially Hospice nurse Jen.
