Carolyn Patton Parr, 78, of Arden, passed away at her residence on Friday, August 6, 2021.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Harry Charles Patton and Lucy Katy Miller Patton. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Patton.

Carolyn was a cosmetology instructor, teaching at Asheville High School for 20+ years and McDowell Tech for 10 years. She enjoyed working with her students and taking care of her flowers and plants.

She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Phillip Wayne Parr; two sons, Chuck Trexler (April) and David Trexler; two granddaughters, Katie and Chloe Trexler and one sister, Kay Collins, all of Asheville.

Her family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 12 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian in Arden. Flowers and plants are appreciated.

  3. I’m so thankful I got to reconnect with you lately. I’m so sad that we just got to have a few conversations and then you were gone. I will always treasure the love you gave us and mom. I’m so sorry to her husband and family. She will be missed. I love you Aunt Carolyn.

  6. You took a piece of my heart with you Momma C! 🥲💔 I won’t ever get used to you not physically being here anymore, but I know you’ll be with us all in spirit! You were always there for us with open loving arms, and positive advice, please continue to be with us on our journeys down here until we join you! I won’t ever forget all the good times we shared with you and Daddy playing cards, and having family gatherings! We always had a ball, you made me laugh so much with your sense of humor! You were so worldly and wise. I’ll always keep and cherish all the momentos and memories of you! I’ve always loved you dearly and always will! Take care of Jason up there, and enjoy your time with your Mom, Dad, twin brother and all the rest of the angels you’ve joined!   7. To the family — may comfort find you in the memories of the one you have loved. She was a light for many Asheville High students and she was a friend to me and her co-workers. It was my pleasure to have shared many cougar moments with her in “that” classroom/office–she and Ms. E. Valentine and I even made a trip to McDowell when she taught there. Peace & Love my friend.
