Druey B Horn, Sr.

DRUEY B. HORN, JR. Druey Benny Horn, Jr., 79, of 406 Emma Road, Asheville, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at St. Joseph Campus, Mission Hospitals. Mr. Horn was born in Greenville Co., SC and was a son of the late Druey B. Horn, Sr. and Ardell Hoyle Horn. He was an Army veteran of WW II and was retired with 30 years service with the VA Medical Center. He was a member of the Asheville First Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ovalene Cody Horn; one daughter Sandra Horn Monthey and her husband Steven of Ohio; one son, Michael Horn and his wife Lisa of Leicester; four grandchildren, Michael Monthey and his wife Leigh Ann, Michele Monthey Harwood and her husband Bobby L. Harwood, Sarah Horn and Rachel Horn; one great-grandson, Bobby S. Harwood; one brother John Horn of SC; one sister Pearl Bond of Black Mountain; a half sister Betty Cheeks of Augusta, GA and a half-brother Hubert Horn of SC. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. James Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. His family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of his son Mike, 236 Turkey Creek Drive, Leicester.
