Lela Elaine Morrow Ballard, 77, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
Mrs. Ballard was born July 27, 1944, in Mebane, NC to the late Robert and Madeline Whitfield Morrow. She was an LPN for 40 years and retired from Arden Family Health Center. She had traveled extensively during her career and had participated in several mission trips, including five to Haiti, Honduras and Africa. Elaine also hosted foreign exchange students from Israel, Brazil and Indonesia. She also served at the Swannanoa Correctional Center. Mrs. Ballard was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Josh Ballard and Adam Ballard (Autumn); six grandchildren, Noah, Stella, Ella Cate, Lucy, Ruby and Marilla; two sisters, Julia Capps and Pam Horner, a brother, Robert Morrow, Jr. (Alice) and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Morrow.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. and Pastors Allen Rash and Dwight Parrish officiating. The service will be live streamed at tbc.live.
Private burial will be Monday at Calvary Churchyard, Fletcher.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
