David Truman Cole, 75, husband for 33 years of Sharron Padgett Cole, died on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at CarePartners Solace Center.
Mr. Cole was born September 19, 1946, in Asheville, to the late Ralph Crissley Cole and Bonnie Faye Collins Cole. He served our country as an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and he was a retired diesel mechanic.
He was a man with many varied talents and he enjoyed oil painting, making stained glass windows and restoring antique cars. He was also an avid gardener and loved being in the woods. He was a member of Philadelphia Church of God.
In addition to his wife, Sharron, he is survived by two sons, David T. Cole, Jr. and Matthew C. Cole; a step-daughter, Carrie P. Richardson; a step-son, Christopher M. Padgett; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted by Mr. Winston Davis at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022, in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain. The NC National Guard Memorial Team will provide military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Philadelphia Church of God, PO Box 3700, Edmond, OK 73087.
