Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Jeannette, Helen and families, I am so sorry to hear of Mack’s passing. May cherished memories soften the sadness and bring comfort and peace to your hearts.

  2. I, along with a few others, worked for Mack all through high school at his Esso station. If truth be known we probably tore up more than we ever fixed. That didn’t keep him from writing a wonderful recommendation letter when I applied for work at Carolina Power and Light.
After graduation our paths went different ways but I have always considered Mack and Shirley as my friends. Rest in peace ole friend.

  3. I remember Mack’s Esso Station in my youth near the Dreamland Drive In way back in the 1960s. Purchased a lot of gas there over the years. Mack was always kind and soft spoken. Those were simpler and better times. My deepest sympathy to Mack’s family and friends. Gerry Huntley, Fairview, NC.

  4. Mrs.Jones and Suzanne: I will be praying for the peace and comfort that only God can give you. Mr. Jones was a great man and I know you will miss him but you will see him again one day.

  5. I am proud to say that Mack and Shirley are my friends and will miss Mack terribly. He did a lot for me…R.I.P., my friend

  6. We will miss you, Mack. You were my jovial, smiley cousin, always with the joke and wisecrack. You reminded me so much of my daddy. God must have wanted to add another warm-hearted, jovial angel to liven up the heavenly party! Rest in peace, cousin Mack.

  7. I was a close friend of Mack’s son and was honored to be with him on several occasions in both Florida & Texas. When I think about him, I think of gentle kindness. I send sincere condolences to Shirley and Suzanne plus to those family members I don’t know. May he Rest In Peace.

  8. Mrs. Shirley, and Sweet Suzanne,
Sending you deepest condolences . Praying for God to comfort you as only he can do. Just think Mr. Mack and Mark are reunited together again in Heaven. My thoughts, prayers, and love are with each of you.

  9. I thought the world of Mack. What a gentleman, very much like his brother Don. Just realized that that his sister Helen was my old friend’s Jonah’s wife! What a wonderful family that is and was. I had so many wonderful friends that worked at the old Sayles Biltmore Bleacheries. We shall have a great reunion in Heaven with old friends soon. In the meantime God be with you all. Wonderful great family.
