On Monday, July 17, 2023, Ralph R. Godfrey passed away unexpectedly. He is survived by his beloved wife Nell, of Asheville, his son, Dwain, of Seymour, TN, and his three grandchildren, Sarah Godfrey of Asheville, Christopher Godfrey of Oxford, NC, and Cale Godfrey of Knoxville, TN.

He is predeceased by his parents, Ralph R. Godfrey, Sr, and Anna Sue Godfrey, of Wauchula, FL, and also by his brother, Donald Godfrey, as well as sisters Evelyn Whitfield and Anne Terrell.

Ralph and Nell were happily married for 70 years. They enjoyed traveling, remodeling older homes and spending time with their grandchildren.

After working for Lockheed Martin in Atlanta, Ralph worked in the automotive industry for 39 years and retired from Harry's Cadillac in 1996. He was a Korean War veteran and led an active life, enjoying NASCAR races, trout fishing, and working on antique cars at the Grove Park Museum. He volunteered with Manna Food Bank and Meals on Wheels for 12 years, and was a volunteer fireman at the Haw Creek Station.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Shepherd Memorial Park, 5045 Asheville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC.
