Born in: Fairview, NC
Resided in: Fairview, NC

Clark Benjamin Sales, born March 8, 1933, went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2025 at Valor Hospice in Asheville, NC. There to greet him was not only his Lord and Savior but his earthly wife of almost 57 years, Katherine Morrow Sales.

A native of Fairview, Clark was a son of the late Horace and Ethel Nesbitt Sales. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Wilma Whitaker and Clara Sayles, his twin; and brothers, Ray, Brantley, Joseph and Henry Sales.

Clark was a welder pipe fitter by trade and worked on projects all over the south as a union worker. He later went to work at Haywood Community College and taught welding. He could repair, build and do anything that he set his mind to. Over the years, he built a Quickie 2 airplane, pontoon boat, boat dock, wood stoves and wood splitter just to name a few. He loved being involved with the Silver Sneakers at Gold’s Gym on Patton Avenue and loved being outdoors in the garden, on the mower cutting grass or riding on the pontoon boat he built. He never missed a Sunday Worship Service going between Emma’s Grove Baptist and Cowboy Church.

He was proud to be an Army Veteran stationed in Germany. The VA Hospital has taken great care of him over the years and the family would like to thank all of the medical professionals that have been a part of his life and home going. Valor Hospice treated him with dignity and respect and made his last days comfortable.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Connie Hensley (Steve), Alan Sales and Jeff Sales (Charlie); his grandchildren, Lesley James (John), Joseph Hensley, Rocky Sales (Megan), Brock Sales and Brooke Cline (Britt); his great-grandchildren, Stephen, Carson and Nataleigh Hensley, Camden King, Shelby James, Rush Sales, and Colson, Blakley and Colbie Cline; sisters, Anna Jean Miller (Ray) and Phyllis Lyda; and a host of nieces and nephews. Of course we can’t leave out Roscoe, his faithful companion, who is being adopted by Jeff and Charlie Sales.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday May 3, 2025 at 5:00pm at Emma’s Grove Baptist Church.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
