Hazel Lee Edmonds Gordon, 87, formerly of Asheville and Hayesville, died Friday, July 29, 2005, at Abbey Hospice, Social Circle, GA. Mrs. Gordon was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Mae Myers Edmonds. She was married to the late Melvin E. Gordon. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann G. Lovern and her husband Julian of Milledgeville, GA and Linda Joy Gordon of Monroe, GA; two sons, Clyde G. “Buddy” Gordon of Winder, GA and Michael Donald Gordon and his wife Ellen of Stockbridge, GA; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Enoch Ball, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local Alzheimer’s Association.

  2. I am sorry to hear about your Mother. She was a very a very sweet
    person. I did not know her children. I worked 10 years for Everett. I also knew Elmer. Your
    Granny was a good friend of mine. I visited Hazel and Granny at Lake Chutuge. May God be with you at this time. I will be praying for you.I was out of town yesterday so I didn’t get to come to the funeral.
