Leonard Pinkney Case, 89, died Friday, February 24, 2006 at Park Ridge Hospital. A native of Buncombe County, Mr. Case was son of the late Charles and Lydia Jones Case. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Candler. He was employed for sixteen years at Moland-Drysdale and was later employed by Kerr Drug Company until he retired. Surviving are four daughters, Diane Case Avent and her husband Frank of Alexandria, VA, Lucy Case Walker and her husband Donnie of Dana, Viola Case London of Asheville and Shelia Case Teate and her husband David of Martin, GA; three sons, William C. Case and his wife Kay of Concord, NC, James A. Case and his wife Genindle of Davidson, NC and Leonard L. Case and his wife Janet of Charlotte and one sister, Mabel Bishop of Asheville. Mr. Case is also survived by nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 27, 2006 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Revs. Furman Wilson and Alvin Melton officiating. His beloved grandson Charlie Marler will be the honorary pallbearer. Interment will follow at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Bethesda Baptist Church, c/o Reverend Furman Wilson, 133 Bennett Road, Candler, NC 28715.

  2. I was so sad to hear of Leonard’ s passing. He was also so good to Gladys (my grandmother). She was always glad to see him and Charlie come and visit. He will be missed but he is now with all of his sisters.
