Linda Joyce Guy, 74, of 927 Fletcher Martin Rd., Alexander, died Monday, February 26, 2007, at her residence. A Buncombe Co. native, Mrs. Guy was a daughter of the late Floyd Emory and Lula Bell Martin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Guy, who died in 1999; her sister, Rosemary Chitty; and her brother, Stanley “Bud” Martin. Mrs. Guy retired from Taylor Instrument in 1985, where she worked as an assembler. She was a member of Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Guy is survived by her daughters, Karen Embler and husband Terry, of Alexander, and Terry Guy, of Fletcher; son, Tony Guy, of Asheville; grandchildren, Kelli Honeycutt, Jason Embler, Mandy Pearson, and Casey Guy; and great-grandchildren, Patrick, Parker, and Chase Honeycutt, and Lindzey Pearson. A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Roy McPeters officiating. The family will be at Mrs. Guy’s home at 927 Fletcher Martin Rd., Alexander. The family requests that memorials be made to Care Partners Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC, 28813.

  1. To the Guy Family: I think you all know that I loved Ms Guy dearly. She was such an incredible woman and she made a tremendous impact on me. It’s not often that you meet a patient and develop such a special bond with them, but with Ms Guy, I believe we had that bond from the very first visit. I miss her dearly…my Monday mornings will never be the same. I love you all like family and I continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
