RAYMOND E. POWELL Asheville ~ Raymond Eugene Powell, 81, of Asheville, died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Pennsauken, NJ, he was a son of the late Christopher Raburd and Mary Ann Eble Powell. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Raymond retired from Continental Trailway in Washington, DC after 30 years of service. He most recently had worked for over 10 years at the Holiday Inn-Airport. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Alana Dawn Helton Powell; a sister, Mary Mulharen and a brother, Robert B. Powell, both of Medford, NJ; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Dr. Kelvin Moseley officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Care Partners Mountain Area Hospice, P.O. Box 5779, Asheville, NC 28813 or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.

  3. My prayers are with you at this time of your loss. Ray was a wonderful employee of mine when I was the General Manager of the Holiday Inn Airport. He gave us 10 wonderful years of service.
