Elizabeth Lee Jenkins Flynn, 93, of 316 Starnes Cove Road, Candler, died Friday, March 14, 2008, at St. Joseph Campus Mission Hospitals. A native of Transylvania County, Mrs. Flynn was a daughter of the late James Samuel and Gracie Mays Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, William Max Gasperson and Glenn W. Flynn; four daughters, Margie Searcy, Mary Hayes, Mollie Gasperson and Donna Kay Collins; a sister, Dorothy Wise King and a brother, the Rev. Samuel Jenkins. Mrs. Flynn retired from Sand Hill Cafeteria in 1975 and was a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Arnold M. Gasperson and wife Sherry of Arden; two daughters, Daisy Gasperson of Candler and Hilda Gasperson of the home; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Sams officiating. Interment will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park, in Hendersonville with Lanny Reid, David Hopkins, Edward Buckner, Turk Terry, Sonny Gasperson and Jason Gasperson serving as pall bearers. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

  2. dear gasperson family,i am so sorry about your loss of aunt liz..she was a great lady.when i first came into your family many years ago,i was a shy and scared young bride of 16,she made me feel so welcome and helped me to get over my shyness real fast.,loved me and accepted me always ,even when earl and i went on seperate journeys thru this life.i would get so much enjoyment out of her and mother dot wise.i’m sure she and dot are having a great time walking on those streets of gold together..miss her ,but let her go when you feel like you can,love her ,and go on thru life as i know she would want you too.know that she still loves you all as she did when she was here with you.when you feel like something touches you,just say to yourself,i love you too grandma and mother,we’ll be together soon..God bless you all.with all my love and prayers .brenda wise gilliam
