Ethelee Fox Gibson, 67, of Asheville, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008, at the Laurels of Summit Ridge.
A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Gibson was a daughter of the late Cecil Fox and Mary Faith Fox Floyd. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Gibson Lowe.
Mrs. Gibson was a loving and caring mother. Her life was her children. She especially enjoyed all of her family's sports activities. She also volunteered for the PTA, and the Girl Scouts. She later became an L.P.N., and worked for the last 15 years at CarePartners. She had the ability to make people laugh. She was a member of Oakley Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by her husband, Claude Gibson; children, Kim Roberts and husband Kenneth, and Andy Gibson, all of Marshall, and Joey Gibson, of Asheville; four grandchildren, Drew Gibson, of Marshall, Brandon Lowe, of the home, Leah Gibson, and Colton Roberts, both of Marshall; sisters, Cecile Rhodes, of Asheville, and Susan Floyd-Cudd, of Charlotte; aunts, Janie Marlowe, and Flora Wilson, both of Asheville.
A funeral service for Mrs. Gibson will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Oakley Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.

The family expresses their appreciation to the members of North Fork Baptist Church for the many kindnesses provided to them.

You were blessed with a caring mother who was so proud of you. May the good memories and love she shared bring you comfort.
Ethelee was a wonderful to work with and an inspiration to the patients she served.She brought laughter and a joy of life to everyone. I will truly miss her magical spirit.

I have fond memories of walking to and from school from the village with Ethelee. We were in the same class many times in grade school at Oakley. I was really excited to see her at Helen’s book signing about the village.

Ethelee was the truest example of a devoted Mother. Her sparkling eyes and warm humor would always make you smile. Rest in peace, Ethelee. May God bless the family and give them peace and comfort.
Sorry to hear of the passing of a true friend in school and after. We are out of town but our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
I remember Ethelee as a pretty girl at Reynolds High School. Later, Andy played football with my son at Reynolds. It is sad to lose such a beautiful person.
