Nellie Beatrice Fortune, 95, of Asheville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late James and Pernina Arwood Michaels. She worked in the nursing field for many years retiring from Asheville Radiology in the early 1980's. She was a member of West Asheville Church of God but attended Edneyville United Methodist Church since moving to Hendersonville. Mrs. Fortune is survived by her loving daughter, Glenda Justus and husband Kenneth of Hendersonville; grandsons, Don Justus and wife Margo of Hendersonville, Dan Justus and wife Laurel of Hollywood, FL; great-grandchildren, Chris, Cory, Stephanie and Delaney Justus and a sister, Lorene Ballew of Asheville. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Byrum and Al Riggs officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Don Justus, Dan Justus, Chris Justus, Cory Justus, David Bradley and Luke Bradley serving as pall bearers. Her family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Elizabeth House, 581 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
