BRUCE RAYMAN
Bruce Rayman, 88, of 29 Ridgewood Place, Asheville, died on Thursday, February 19, 2009, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center.
A native of Geddes, SD, Mr. Rayman was a son of the late Oliver Charles and Bessie Viola Sornberger Rayman.
Mr. Rayman was a graduate of the University of South Dakota. He worked at Dun and Bradstreet as well as an agent for several insurance companies. A U.S. Army 1st Lieutenant, Mr. Rayman served during WW II under Gen. Patton in Europe, and was later sent to the Pacific Theatre for the invasion of Japan. He also served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Brigman Rayman; daughter, Dr. Lea Rayman, of Whitefish Bay, WI; sister, Luella Rayman; and granddaughter, Lauren Wigton.
A funeral service for Mr. Rayman will be at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue with the Rev. E.M. Pettit, his cousin, officiating. A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
His family will receive friends following the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
