Winnie Lou 'Margaret' Bates, 59, of 38-E Pisgah View Apts, Asheville, died Sunday, November 22, 1998, in the Hospice Solace Center.
Mrs. Bates was born in Rutherfordton and was a daughter of the late Walter Riley and Louthena Woody Wells. She was a member of the Salvation Army.
She is survived by her husband, Caroll Bates and by a brother, Denver Wells.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Revs. Jimmy Page and Alan Blanton officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:30 pm Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home.
