James Andrew Carver

September 13, 1946 ~ May 16, 1999
Mr. Carver was a lifelong
resident of Buncombe County and Asheville and was a son of the late Edward G. Carver and Nellie Mae
Stone Carver Singleton.
Mr. Carver was a dedicated fan and friend of the great Asheville
Motor Speedway, which he loved so much.
He is survived by his only child, a daughter, Lisa Renee Carver Dryman, a son-in-law, David Wayne
Dryman, and three grandchildren, Dewayne Andrew Dryman, Daniel Aaron Dryman, and Lacy Rebekah
Dryman, all of Leicester; five sisters, Linda Faye Israel, Mary Elizabeth Johnston, and Dorothy Mae Banks, all of Asheville, Lottie Jean Bradford of Burnsville and Shirley Ann Fender of
Candler; two brothers, Billy Gene Carver, Sr. of Candler and Charles Edward Carver of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Gardner Carver, Furman Wesley Carver, and Walter Jack Carver.
Funeral services will be at
2:00 pm Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Eugene Dodd
officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
His family will receive
friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the daughter’s home, 17 Wessolleck Drive, Leicester.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
