George V. Reeves

Asheville Butterfly TrailMr. Reeves was born in Stokes County and was a son of the late James Ellis and Maggie Clark
Reeves. He was an Army veteran of WW II and was a retired machinist. He was married to Thelma Blanche Frisbee Reeves, who died in 1988.
Mr. Reeves is survived by three sons, Michael, Robert and Ronnie Reeves of Asheville; five brothers, Walter, Howard, Herman and Glenn Reeves of Winston-Salem, and James Reeves of Leicester; and
seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at
11:00 am Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald N. Welborn officiating. Military graveside rites will be provided by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Will never forget how excited he would get when he got to tell some of the WWII stories he had experienced. James Reeves is my uncle, and the Reeves family has always been very special to me and my family. I’m sure George will always be remembered by the family and friends that knew him.
