Comer Bell

Mr. Bell was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Mack and Julia Ledbetter Bell. He was married to Johnnie Burgess Bell, who died in 1993. He was former Treasurer of Morgan Brothers in Asheville and was a member of the former Riverview United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, James H. Bell, Sr. of Asheville and William E. Bell of Boone;  a   brother, Mack Bell, Jr. of Stone Mountain, GA; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and eight great-great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday in the Mausoleum Chapel of Shepherd Memorial Park with his grandchildren, the Revs. Bob and Joan Bell officiating. Entombment will be in Shepherd’s Mausoleum.

His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mausoleum chapel and request that memorials be made to the Salvation Army.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
