ASHEVILLE – Nellie Styles Hall, 81, of Asheville, died on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at St. Joseph Campus, Mission Hospitals.
Born in Yancey Co. on May 31, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Fannie Jamerson Styles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Hall; sister, Mallie Owenby; brothers, Craig, Delzie, Arnold, and Hugh Styles; and great-granddaughter, McKayela Marie Johnson.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her daughter, Sharon Thompson and husband Larry; son, Dennis Jackson; sisters, Mary Jane Creasman, and Alice Warcup; brother, John Styles; five grandchildren, Gene Crain, Monica Mays, Phillip Dixon, Delana Holland, and Scott Jackson; and five great-grandchildren, Jonathan Crain, Aaron Wright, Love Mays, Leslie Joe Johnson, and Savannah Holland.
A graveside service for Mrs. Hall will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Revs. Jack Gassaway and Daniel Bell and Mr. Don Harrison officiating.
I met Nellie several years ago when she would come to Asheville Fleet to have her car repaired. She was always so pleasant no matter what she was going through, she always had a smile and a kind word. We always had a good visit when I would drive her home. Heaven will be sweeter because of Ms. Nellie.
Nellie will be Loved and Missed Dearly.She was always a very strong women that Loved her Family no matter what.I remember times that she made me laugh,and the warm feeling I got to just watch her crack a smile and start laughing.She has always been the glue that kept her family going.
