Gordon Sayles Tomlinson

Gordon Sayles Tomlinson, 74, of 8 St. Andrews Road, Arden died, Tuesday, July 24, 2001 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late John T. and Esther Tomlinson. He was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School, a retired employee with the National Data Climatic Center and a US Army Veteran of WW II. He was a former President and active member of the Cosmic Club since 1964. He was also a member of the Cathedral of All Souls. He is survived by two daughters, Holly T. Scheve of Johnson City, TN, Merry T. Hopson of Surgoinsville, TN; two sons, John Lloyd Tomlinson of Roanoke, VA and Christopher Andrew Tomlinson of Asheville and six grandchildren. His family will receive friends from 12 - 1:45 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Avenue, with Graveside services following at 2:00 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery.
