I knew Roy King in years past as a fellow member of the local chapter of the Musuclar Dystrophy Association. He was just one of those people in whom goodness glowed.
My memory and first meeting of Roy King was when I was working for Sears and he for Ivey. He needed a hammer at Ivey’s and borrowed it from me and Sears. This started a friendship that lasted for years. I soon went to work at Ivey’s,he helped me to get in the door. It was not to long ago he past through my memory and I wondered what had happened to him. He was a special person in so many ways. His goodness was warm. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this hour of grief .
We are thinking of you in the loss of your father. He was a kind, good, and always friendly man. We knew him, your good mother, (and even you as a child) when we attended Merrimon Avenue Church during the early 60’s.
Our sympathies to you at this time of loss.

During the marriage of Roy and my mother, Dorothy King, he was a loving member of our family. He was a kind man and our whole family has many wonderful, and also sad memories of the times we shared. He used to love to come to Columbia. We spent many wonderful holidays together. I truly appreciate the love he had for my mother and know that now he is finally at peace.
Roy married my grandmother, Dorothy King, when I was eight years old and became not only a loving grandfather, but also a friend. I have missed him. Love, Michael
Roy was a good Christian man who came into my family’s life at a perfect time. Roy gave me away at my wedding and was a father figure to me after my father passed away when I was 15. Roy was married to my mother, Dorothy, for 8 years before she passed away and even though there is no mention of her in his obituary, they had a love for each that I truly respected. I have fond memories of Roy and I’m deeply saddened that I did not have a chance to thank him for being a part of my life and for not being able to say goodbye. We loved you Roy and I know that you are finally at peace and with God. Love, Karen & Brady
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. We know that it is hard because my father, Robert King past away just 2 years ago. May God be with you, Tom and Debbie.
