Laura Williams Rumbough Bryson, 71, of 60 Mt. Vernon Place, Asheville, died Tuesday, December 11, 2001, at her home.

Mrs. Bryson was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Frederick C. and Jessie Netherton Williams, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Clyde Thomas Rumbough in 1979 and Jack Bryson in 1991; a son, Freddy Rumbough, two daughters, Marie Celine Rumbough and Laura Clydene Rumbough; a sister, Juanita Walsh and two brothers, Harold and Frederick Williams. She was a former employee of American Enka.

Surviving are one daughter, Bobbie Rumbough of Arden; one son, Tom Rumbough and his wife Diane of Asheville; four grandchildren, Kena Laura Davis, Jeremy and Wes Rumbough, and Jennifer Stephens; two sisters, Justine Miller of Candler and Nickie Williams of N. Miami Beach, FL; and two brothers, Jack Williams of Newport News, VA and Bob Williams of Hampton, VA.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at Lewis Memorial Park with the Revs. Boyd McClaren and Darrell McClaren officiating.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
