Lillie Mae Parker Long, 79, of 108 W. Oak View Road, Asheville, died Friday, January 11, 2002, at her residence.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Linton L. and Lonnie Bell Plemmons Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie M. Long and a brother, Carl A. Parker. She was a member of Arlington Baptist Church in Mint Hill, NC.
Survivors include two nieces, Becki Plemmons and her husband Paul of Asheville and Linda Wrigley of Mint Hill; a great-nephew, Wesley Moore, his wife Holly and their children Brittany and Devan of Asheville and a sister-in-law, Marguerite Parker of Asheville.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Woggon officiating.
Mrs. Long will be taken to Mint Hill on Monday where she will lie in state at McEwen Funeral Home until private burial on Tuesday at Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery.

You certainly have our heartfelt sympathy. We knew both Lillie Mae and Arthur from school and at the W. A. Presbyterian Church over many years. We also lived in Charlotte for 34 years and used to see Lillie Mae and Bill there occasionally. She was always a warm and loving person!
