Madeline Moseley McCard Capps, 74, of 35 White Pine Drive, Asheville, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 6, 2002.
Mrs. Capps was a lifelong resident of Asheville and was a daughter of the late Richard Holly and Vaughtie Rhinehart Moseley. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Sarah Goins and Elizabeth Hubbard and brothers, Richard O., Nathan Lewie, and Ted Moseley. She was a loving wife of the late Fred McCard and the late Spencer Capps.
Mrs. Capps was a graduate of Central Wesleyan College where she majored in music. She was a former librarian for the Asheville Citizen-Times and was a former member of the Asheville Wesleyan Church where she served as pianist and organist. More recently she was a member of Haywood Street United Methodist Church.
She was the loving mother of one son, Tommy McCard of Asheville and is also survived by one brother Calvin Moseley and his wife Mae Marie Moseley of Moyock, NC.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Haywood Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dorothy B. Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
