Agnes Euers, 91, formerly of Asheville Terrace Apartments, died Saturday, February 15, 2003, at The Oaks at Sweeten Creek. Mrs. Euers was born in Madison County and was a daughter of the late Willard and Sue Anderson Angel. She was employed with Eckerds Pharmacy for 10 years. Mrs. Euers was a member of Paint Gap Baptist Church in Madison County and attended Biltmore Baptist Church. She was a loving, giving, and faithful “Nana” and “Granny Agnes” to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Doug Ramsey and a sister-in-law, Lyda Ray. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Ramsey of Asheville; three sons, Kermit Ray, and his wife Lorraine, of Asheville, Roy Ray of California and Gene Ray, and his wife Cynthia, of Asheville; three grandchildren, Marilyn Douglas of Jacksonville, Florida, Michelle Ray of Charleston, SC and Eddie Ray, and his wife Lisa, of Raleigh, NC; two great grandchildren, Zachary and Pressley Douglas of Jacksonville, Florida. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Rev. Thom Murphy officiating. Private burial will follow at Calvary Episcopal Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Oaks at Sweeten Creek, “Activities Department”, 3864 Sweeten Creek Road, Arden, N.C. 28704.
