Albert Auburn Wilds

Albert Auburn Wilds, 87, of 150 Vance Crescent Extension, Asheville, died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the VA Medical Center. Mr. Wilds was born in Madison County and was a son of the late Lewis Auburn and Geneva McDevitt Wilds. He was a Navy veteran of WW II and had been a member of Haywood Street United Methodist Church for 53 years. He was a retired truck driver with ABF Transport. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Viola Wills Wilds; two sons, Albert Wilds, Jr. and wife, Mary, and Timothy Wilds and wife, Jenny; grandchildren, Albert Wilds III, William Wilds, Evangeline Wilds, and Amelia Wilds. In addition, he loved his animals, Priscilla and Bummer. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Central United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
