Alfred Burton Stanley

Alfred Burton Stanley, 87, formerly of Asheville, died Thursday, January 14, 2016, in Pittsboro, NC. A native of Sylva, Mr. Stanley was a son of the late William Harrison and Lena Mae Beasley Stanley, and he was retired from the housing construction and repair profession. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margie Barnes Stanley; son, Dr. Larry D. Stanley and wife Gilda; daughter, Lynne Moore and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Heather S. Underwood, Margie B. Johnson and husband Lee, Sherry M. Hannah and husband Brent, and Steven M. Moore ; and two great-grandchildren, Carlee and Hunter Johnson. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Brinda Caldwell-Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
