    Another Leaf Has Fallen

    Another leaf has fallen,
    another soul has gone.
But still we have God’s promises,
    in every robin’s song.

For he is in His heaven,

    and though He takes away,
    He always leaves to mortals,
    the bright sun’s kindly ray.

    He leaves the fragrant blossoms,
    and lovely forest, green.
And gives us new found comfort,
when we on Him will lean.

  36. I am extremely shocked and deeply saddened beyond words can express when I got this completely unbelievable news yesterday …
I am colleague of Allan in Siemens Germany and interacted with him through long distance online meetings since 2017, unfortunately I never met Allan in person.
In these 3 years, Allan left a deep impression on me of his nice jovial nature, and very sincere and very dedicated person in his work…
He was full of energy and passion for his job that this created a vibrant atmosphere during meetings, this bringing positive results.
We have lost a very dear friend, a wonderful colleague and I am going to miss him always as he left our team so suddenly and very very untimely…
I pray to God to rest his kind soul in peace and give strength to family and friends to bear this irreparable loss.

He will be missed greatly by so many. His beautiful voice, spirit and sense of humor will remain in my heart.

  47. To the family: You know that Allan went through school with my two boys at Sand Hill and Enka High, graduating with Edward. Allan was an asset to Oak Forest Presbyterian Church the many years he was there, being a Deacon, singing in the choir, working with the youth and going on trips with them, and much more.

2 Timothy 4:6-8 reads:”…the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Therefore there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day…”

The scripture says: There is a time to be born and a time to die. And when my time comes to die an angel will be there to comfort me. He will give me peace and joy even at that most critical hour and usher me into the presence of God, and I will dwell with the Lord forever.”

  54. I had the honor of working with Allan as a competitor in the electrical industry. Working on standards, attending the electrical safety meetings and more. He was always a bright spot of smiles, cooperation and positive attitude. The fact he was a competitor was never evident, the fact he was a caring individual trying to do the right thing was always obvious. I had just reached out to him to work together on a project for the IEEE and was surprised he had not replied with his normal speed as he was always willing to cooperate for the good of the industry and the people the industry serves. He will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. My sincerely sympathies to his family and friends for this terrible and untimely loss.

  60. While I certainly met Allan once or twice before my time here, I regret that I never had the opportunity to know him, work alongside him, or thank him for his extraordinary service to our community and to United Way. His absence represents an enormous loss for our community. On behalf of our entire team here at United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, we send peace and love to Allan’s family during this very difficult time.

  61. Allan and I shared time together every six months at IEEE, or at Eaton employee meetings. One of the finest persons I have ever met. Let’s bless and always remember him in our hearts, mind and memories. Stephen

  62. This greatly depresses me. I was with Allan several weeks ago at the IEEE ESW in Reno and as usual we talked of restaurants and food. We all will missing him and are sorry to hear.

  63. I’m so very shocked and saddened about Allan’s passing. I enjoyed reconnecting with him in the past few years, both in Raleigh and at Sante in Asheville. It was fun to catch up on three decades of life after graduating from Enka High School with “Big Al,” and his life seemed incredibly full — not just with work but also with singing, the United Way, travel, Disney World food festivals and, always, his family. He will be greatly missed by many.

  64. Charles, Evon and Family,

  74. So sorry to hear about Allan; I cherished his beautiful tenor voice right behind me in choir, his humor and smile. Prayers for your family.

  75. As a choir member at Central, I appreciated Allen’s dedication to the choir. No matter how busy he was at work, you could always count on him. Allen was kind and considerate of others and willing to help whenever he could. We will miss his smile and great tenor voice.

  76. Deep unspeakable grief . . . in this unimaginable loss. Allan was our dear and close friend with whom many wonderful times were shared. His intelligent kindness and warm caring over many years has no doubt touched many. We are most grateful for his fine friendship and example . . . and honored to pass on his legacy of goodness. Our thoughts and prayers gently embrace his close family though these difficult days.

    With much love,
    King and Johanna

  77. So sad. I hope Allan knew how well liked he was. I hope the family gets some comfort in knowing that Allan was so well liked, as is obvious from the number of tributes he has received in this little space. I know more people have been touched by Allan and his passing. I knew Allan from the Asheville Symphony Chorus (ASC). He was my treasurer and Board member when I was President and on the Board. He gave wise advice even when it might have been against the prevailing feeling, keeping us along the best path. I appreciated his honest opinions and counsel. I was sad when he moved away and no longer able to sing with us. An excellent voice that we missed when he left, and now a greater loss for all of us. So sad.

  78. I am so sorry to hear of Alan’s passing. Watching him grow up next door and hearing such good things about him over the years, makes it even harder to believe he is gone. I will be praying for Gods great blessings of comfort and peace to surround you during this difficult time. My love and sympathy to all the extended Morse family. I have fond memories of my good neighbors.

  79. I am stunned at the loss of my former classmate, Allan, and am grieving with you, his family. Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am for your loss.

Eternal rest, grant unto him oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.

  80. Charles and Evon – my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of your son’s passing and will continue to be with you in the days and weeks ahead. You were so proud of him and his accomplishments. What a wonderful son! May all your memories give you peace.

  81. Allan was one of the smartest people I have ever met, and a good person. I have not seen him in years, but I know he will be missed deeply by his family. Stay strong in knowing you will see him in heaven again someday.
